Surgical Annotator Certification · Multi-specialty · at Scale

From general annotator to
surgical-grade

The Codvo Annotator Academy recruits general annotators and turns them into certified surgical annotators through SOP-driven training, a proctored certification exam, and SME oversight. Quality comes from the process, so it scales without depending on scarce medical experts.

The Certification Factory

Eight steps from applicant to certified annotator

Process, not people. Any qualified team can run it, in any region.

Step 01
Apply
General annotators welcome. No medical background required. Verify identity and pick a specialty track.
Step 02
SOP Training
Learn the annotation rulebook and visual atlas: instruments, anatomy, phases, and the visual-delineation rule.
Step 03
Certification Exam
60-minute proctored test. Identify instruments and anatomy, phases, and spot annotation errors on real frames.
Step 04
Calibration
Scored against the SME-validated Golden Set. Anti-cheat and integrity checks run throughout.
Step 05
Certified
Annotators who clear the bar are certified as surgical-grade. Others get targeted coaching and retry.
Step 06
QA & SME Oversight
Every batch is reviewed. QA holds the line and clinical SMEs adjudicate edge cases.
Step 07
Production
Certified annotators join a pod and annotate at quality, with output that feeds the model.
Step 08
Keep Improving
Drift control and re-calibration hold quality at scale. A career path to QA and SME.
